other jim, the senior
Boy, my extended family is really growing up. I have yet another nephew who is about to move on to the real world, Jimmy. However, he no longer likes to referred to as Jimmy and prefers Jim, but his dad is Jim so his mom has aptly nicknamed him “Other Jim”.
While traveling in Minnesota last weekend I got the opportunity to do O.J.’s senior photo shoot. I also took pictures of his female friend (not sure if he calls her his girlfriend). Sara had some locations scouted out for us to try, and O.J. really showed enthusiasm during his shoot making for some great photos. This is the first senior boy that I’ve gotten to photograph, so it was a real treat for me, too. Without further ado, here is just a sample of the 40 pictures that were chosen for editing. If you’re interested in seeing the whole set, here is the link for the slideshow:

We started off with some nature shots at a spot that had some nice landscaping and a waterfall.

At our next spot we were going for a more “urban” look which seemed befitting for a guy. Sara chose the perfect place that had so much variety in architecture.

And the last location was back to nature.

Other Jim likes his pictures. He says it’s going to be tough to choose which one to put in the yearbook. He did complain that no one told him that he hair was “messy” or “uneven.” I verbally rolled my eyes at him. Isn’t that the style? A guy’s hair supposed to be slightly messy for pictures. And it’s not even messy! It’s normal! That is what his hair does.
Anyway, he likes them very much–he looked at them three times before he had to go to work. We’ll set about picking and choosing over the weekend.
Thanks again, a bunch and a ton!

Jen, they turned out so great!! I love the use of the garage door. It looks like an ad. Morgan wants you (as do we) to do her senior pictures next year, but she wants them in Florida. Really, you did a great job. It helps that OJ is pretty good looking!!

Well, at least you got one of him smiling. What is up with guys and smiling in pictures anyway? As always you did a great job.

Thanks, everyone, for the wonderful comments. I had a lot of fun doing this and hope to continue the tradition with all the other nieces/nephews. Jim was game for anything which made for a fun experience of shooting my first male senior.
