i heart hats for little girls

It occurred to me the other day that Violet didn’t have a winter hat to keep her bald head warm during the frigid days. I decided I could help her out and crocheted her an earflap hat one evening. I was surprised at how quickly it was to make, so now I want to make a dozen more. Have I? Of course, not. If you haven’t noticed, but I’ve been a teensy bit swamped around here lately. Time on the computer has been minimal these days. Enough complaining. Instead take a look at Violet in her new hat. Love it!

Despite the hectic times around here we did manage to make up several different batches of cookies to take to some church members. The girls had fun, but Mimi got fired from her frosting job after getting caught licking on the job.

And lastly, forget Nascar!

This will be my last blog post for about a week (maybe since there may or may not be internet access where we’re going) since we’ll be heading south to NC. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!

HAHAHA! That video made me laugh out loud! I love it when children use objects NOT for their intended purpose!

Very cute hat and very cute baby! Oh those giant blue eyes! That is seriously an awesome crochet job.

Merry Christmas and have a wonderful time in Nawth Cah-lie-nah.

Thanks, ladies! Hope y’all have a great Christmas as well.

When I saw the girls doing that with the laundry baskets I told Mike to grab the camera. Glad we captured the moment.

Since Alex got out of school for Christmas break on Tuesday, I thought we would have all day today to play, since Mimi is out on Thursdays but then I never even got a minute to call and say hello, let alone make plans. This December has been too crazy for me!

Anyhow, have a great trip! I am bummed out that you won’t be here to play with us next week, but drive safely and Merry Christmas. Bring those laundry baskets in case you run out of vegetable oil and need the girls to give you a lift.

Thanks, Jen! Can’t wait to see you, too!

    Julie-
I know, I did call you one day (without an answer from you , as usual), but I realized I had so much crap to do and was kind of relieved you didn’t answer. I want to this year to be over (how sad a statement).

LOVE the hat!! Wish I had some cute girl at my house you could make one for. Maybe you could teach me sometime though and then I could make ones for all the cute girls I know.
I’m all over your rendition of Nascar. So much better!

You find the absolute cutest designs to whip up for your girls! I just love it on her…what lucky girls you have – such a creative, talented mom they are blessed with – I really must learn to crochet after seeing Violet in your hat.
